Explore a wide range of approaches to the making of art – drawing, painting, ceramics, digital media, photo or other mixed media.

Freedom to choose
The course provides studio-based practice that is likely to involve the blurring of boundaries and to be open in regard to different disciplines and traditions. Visual art encourages exploration through the disciplines of drawing, digital media, painting, video, ceramic, installation, performance, intervention, photo-media, print and other mixed media.

Dialogue
Tuition by artists, engaging in constructive discussion with you, and the giving of ongoing supportive critical feedback about your work, helps develop your potential.

Workshops
Will increase your awareness of the range of media available to you and provide further opportunities for the exploration of new ideas, approaches and techniques. This allows you to vary the media in which you work and choose the media forms most appropriate to your ideas. Guest teachers will also help you to develop.

In the fall 2010 we will be visited by the reputed urban artist Brad Downey.

Visual art for you
Main subject art is suitable both for beginners and more advanced students. If you have the wish to work, experiment and meet new challenges, you can develop a lot during the year.

Room for Fine arts
The school is situated in beautiful surroundings by the sea, and the light can be magnificent. Just beside the school you will find the ruins of an old cloister and other places you can search inspiration for painting or drawing.

Sunnhordland folk high school has good studios and equipment for art, including a Mac with Photoshop.
